Briefs, transcripts of proceedings, court orders and rulings, memoranda, and other papers related to the seven-year legal battle (1945-1952) over ownership of controlling stock interest in Dollar Steamship Lines, whose name changed to American President Lines, Ltd. in 1938 when it was transferred to the United States Maritime Commission, which in 1950 became the Federal Maritime Board. The case was concluded by an out-of-court settlement between the company and the U.S. government.
